Chicken korma

Chicken korma is a very rich creamy yet spicy dish . Totally not for people on diet😜
But if you decide to dig in , it is heavenly when eaten with yeast breaded Indian Roti or Naan or Roomali chapati.
A perfect dish for any party pr gathering this usually calls for a definite try out in your kitchen.

  1. Onion-3/Diced
  2. Tomato-2 /puree
  3. Ginger garlic paste-2tsp
  4. Turmeric powder-1tsp
  5. Red chilly powder-2tsp
  6. Coriander powder-3tsp
  7. Garam masala -1 tsp
  8. Salt to taste
  9. Black pepper:2-3
  10. Black peppercorns:6-7
  11. Cinnamon stick-3
  12. Cumin seeds-2tsp
  13. Bayleaf -2
  14. Green cardamom:3-4
  15. Cloves:2-3
  16. Oil-4tbspn
  17. Curd-1/2cup(thick)
  18. Desi ghee-2tsp(optional)
  19. Kewra water-1/2tsp
  20. Chicken-250gms


  1. Heat oil in a wok or kadhai ,add onions and fry till it turns brown(but be cautious while frying to avoid burning).
  2. Remove onions on a separate plate lined with paper towel leaving 1/4 in the kadhai.
  3. Now with the removed onions and curd make a paste by blending them in a blender and keep aside.
  4. Now add ginger garlic paste into the kadhai , saute and then add the tomato paste.
  5. Saute for 2-3 minutes and add all the whole spice and give a mix .
  6. After that add the dry spices except the garam masala.
  7. Cook for 4-5 mins and add chicken pieces.
  8. Cover and cook chicken for a while.
  9. After a while when the chicken is half cooked  ,add the curd onion paste and mix nicely.
  10. Stir for 2-3 mins and then cover and cook until chicken cooks completely on low medium flame for around 20 -25 mins
  11. Now add a few drops of kewra water and garam masala.
  12. Add desi ghee if needed and cover the pan for 4-5 mins
  13. Serve and enjoy!
