Aloo tikki burger( Macd style)

A Burger is a sandwich consisting of one or more cooked patties of ground potato,meat or chicken placed inside a sliced bread roll or bun. The patty may be pan fried, barbecued, or flame broiled.

It is loved by all and so I decided to make a macd style veg burger so that you can make it easily at home the avoiding hurrysome trips to burger outlets to eat it.

Ingredients

For Burger patty

  1. Boiled potato:3-4(refrigerate for 3-4 hours and then mash)
  2. Poha /flattened rice-1/4cu
  3. Saltto taste
  4. Green peas-1/2cup
  5. Red chilly powder-11/2tsp
  6. Turmeric powder-1tsp
  7. Coriander powder-11/2tsp
  8. Garlic powder-1tsp
  9. Black pepper powder-1tsp
  10. Cumin powder-1tsp
  11. Oil-1tbsp

Recipe

  1. Heat oil in a pan and add green peas and saute.
  2. After 2 mins add boiled potato and salt and then immediately add rinsed poha( it will drain the excess moisture from potatoes)
  3. Now add the dry spices and mix everything well for 4-5 mins and let it cool ( keep in refrigerator for 4-5 mins as it cools down a little)
  4. Now take iy out on a cling wrap and roll it in a shape equivalent to the shape of your burgen bun .
  5. Give it a toffee shape by securing both ends by a rubberband as done in a toffee.
  6. Now put it in a freezer for 4-6 hours.
  7. Meanwhile roast the burger buns with a little butter and keep aside.

For the sauce:

  1. Mix 2 heaped tablespoon of mayo with tomato sauce(2tsp)
  2. Add a little orange colour just to give that nice orange appealing macd colour to your burger buns.

Frying Burger patties:

  1. For that Prepare a runny batter by mixing all purpose flour(2tsp), cornflour(1tsp),cormeal(1tsp) and alittle salt.
  2. Add icecold watet to prepare the batter and keep aside
  3. Now take dry all purpose flour and bread crumbs in two separate bowls.
  4. Take burger patty out of freezer and cut in equal shape patties  after removing cling wrap.
  5. Now dip it in dry flour , then the batter and finally coat with bread crumbs and keep aside.
  6. As all patties are done ,heat oil in a pan  hot enough to fry patties on a medium flame.
  7. Meanwhile cut few onions and slices of tomato and put Onions in a bowl of water and keep in fridge for around 10 mins.
  8. Now in the heated oil add patties one by one,howmuchever the pan can accumulate at a time
  9. Fry all burger patties and keep aside.

Making the burger:

  1. Mayo sauce
  2. Diced Onion 
  3. Tomato cut in Slices
  4. Toasted Burger buns
  5. Fried Burger patties

Method to put together:

  1. Take the upper half if burger bun and place onion ,tomato,sauce and burger patty and then cover with lower half of bun
  2. Turn upside down and your burger is ready .
  3. It comes out yummy so do try itπŸ‘πŸ»πŸ˜‹
