Methi aloo /fenugreek potato

Aloo Methi is a delicious dish made with potatoes, fenugreek leaves, and a combination of spices



  1. Methi leaves-250gms
  2. Onion-1/chopped
  3. Potato -1/cut into small pieces
  4. Garlic pods:2-3/chopped
  5. Red chilly powder-1/2tsp
  6. Whole red chilly-2
  7. Turmeric powder-1/2tsp
  8. Salt to taste


  1. Heat oil in kadhai,add chopped garlic until it turns golden brown .
  2. Then to it chopped onion and fry until golden brown .As it turns a little brown add potato and stir well for about a minute .
  3. Add all the dry spices and cover for 2-3 mins and cook so that potatoes soften
  4.  As the potatoes soften add methi leaves mix well and stir for 2-3 mins .
  5. Cover again for 4-5 mins and then serve hot.
